We offer private rides for a more personalized, intimate horseback riding experience. Though it costs a little bit more than a group ride, this quality time in the isolated beauty of the Sonoran desert is well worth while.
Picture the desert sky a brilliant blue as you ride toward the summit of South Mountain, rounding to the Estrella and Maricopa Mountains. You will be slowly surrounded by beautiful desert flowers, Mesquite trees, sage bushes and cacti. Desert rabbits and quail dart across the trails while leaving the city of Phoenix behind. The air is clear and dry as you pass through the spectacular scenery of the Sonoran Desert. You are in the desert southwest, experiencing it, and seeing it the way it was meant to be seen… on the back of a horse.
KOLI Equestrian Center is located in Chandler and serves the greater Phoenix, Arizona area. We have customers that come from all over the country to enjoy horseback riding. We cater to riders, from the novice to experienced, singles to large groups, and families with children. Our horseback rides are enjoyed by customers that simply want an experience on a horse in the Arizona sunshine.
All of our trail rides are designed as “walking” rides to keep it simple and gentle on both riders and their horses. However, if you are an experienced rider and you’re interested in something that requires a greater skill level, just let us know. We can provide an experienced rider that would like to “kick it up a little” with a Private Ride in the arena only. We have something for everyone, so come on out and have some fun.
Please note WE DO NOT RUN, CANTER OR TROT our horses due to the desert terrain and ground burrowing animals for the riders, and horses safety. Once riders demonstrate their ability to our staff, we MAY (not guaranteed) work pace up to light trot ONLY when on a PRIVATE RIDE in the arena area only. The ride will be at the weakest link’s ability. You must listen to and remain with our staff at all times.

We offer horseback riding on the Gila River Indian Reservation. Come experience the “Old West” the real cowboy way – on horseback. Our experienced wranglers and horses will make sure you have both a fun and safe ride. We offer the best Arizona horseback riding in the American Southwest. We enjoy providing guided horse trail riding for greater Phoenix community and look forward to seeing you soon.
Adult Horsemanship 101:
- Adult Horsemanship 101 is held any day available privately (temperature permitting) with a 24 hour notice. Horsemanship 101 is great for the inexperienced rider to understand all about the horse, the saddle, grooming, and the actual saddling of a horse, along with arena riding in a safe, confined environment or trail riding, depending on the comfort and experience levels. Discover the confidence within as you learn how to care for, maintain, and safely enjoy riding horses! Exploring the desert on horseback offers a unique educational experience by allowing you to connect with our natural surroundings. You may use this time to work on what you want to as well, just notate that in your reservation so that we’re ready for you.
