Terms & Conditions

Completion of Waivers:

At the time of your ride, you are required to fill out a waiver. Click Here to Read our Waiver. You will not be allowed to ride if you fail to complete the waiver.

For children, the parent or court appointed legal guardian must complete the waiver or the child may not ride.  Grandparents or other relative that is not the biological parent cannot complete the waiver regardless if parent is with child or not. THERE ARE TWO SIDES THAT MUST BE COMPLETED FOR A CHILD TO RIDE.

For all riders of any age we highly recommended wearing a helmet.  For a group of minors will may required the whole group wear them for additional safety.

We choose your horses based on your level of riding experience and your height & weight. Should it appear that what was given to us at the time of the reservation is not what we see, we will do our best to provide another horse, however we may cancel the ride should a horse not be available for your need. Understand that our horses do not stand at a tether pole all day waiting for our guests. They are comfortable in their homes until it is time to prepare for the ride ahead of them. If the wrangler must prepare another horse, the trail ride will be pushed back 15-20 minutes.

If you do not follow the guidelines and safety rules provided by the wrangler at the time of the demonstration while on the horse, then the wrangler does have the authority to stop the ride and return home. In this event, you will not be refunded your money.

Please remember each rider needs their own completed waiver form!

Age Restrictions:

Children 6 years and up may participate in trail rides.

No double riding will be allowed.

Any rider under 18 years old will be required to wear a helmet and will have parent or legal guardian’s signature on waiver. Click here to see our waiver.

Riders 18 Years old and older will be advised to wear a helmet or required to sign a release.

OTHER NEEDED INFORMATION:

Any person with a medical condition should notify us at time of reservation to see if this activity is suitable for them. Sorry, we do not allow pregnant women on the rides for their and the baby’s safety.

Our weight limits are based on height-weight ratios, but are not exact. Generally the maximum weight is 250 lbs up to 6 feet tall and 275 lbs for the folks over 6 feet tall. You must be able to manage and handle your own weight, loading yourself from the ground onto the horse with little assistance from our staff.  We do have some larger Percherons that can handle a little more weight.  If you need them, please let us know by calling or noting during the booking process online.  We will need to know specifics, weight, height, how many, etc in order to have the horses ready.  We are limited on those horses and will reach out to you if not available.

We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.  During your ride you must listen to and follow all instruction from our staff.  Failure to do so could result in early termination of the ride however you will still be responsible for payment in full.

Please note WE DO NOT RUN our horses due to the desert terrain and ground burrowing animals for the riders’ and horses’ safety. Once riders demonstrate their ability to our staff, we MAY (not guaranteed) work pace up to light trot in our arena only. The ride will be at the weakest link’s ability. You must listen to and remain with our staff at all times.

Reservations:

For a reservation we ask for minimal information. Please understand that your reservation is confirmed at the time your booking is made, therefore, we do not book more rides than we have horses for. If you know that you will not be able to make it out to see us, please call to let us know. This will keep us from having to prepare horses that will not be used.

Understand that our horses do not stand at a tether pole all day waiting for our guests. They are comfortable in their homes until it is time to prepare for the ride ahead of them. If the wrangler must prepare another horse, the trail ride will be pushed back 15-20 minutes. So reservations are required.

Please note if you have questions or want to make a reservation, please contact us at visit us at KOLI Equestrian Center and click any Book Now button, email us at info@koliequestrian.com or call 602-796-3495. Reservations are strongly recommended and will ensure booking time and availability of horseback ride.

Group Trail Ride Times:

Please note we offer two different schedules due to the desert climate in AZ. We operate our Summer Schedule from June 1st to MID TO END of September of each year. The rest of the year we run under Winter Schedule, which is from MID TO END of September to May 31st of each year. We clearly post our current times on our home page and when you pull up the booking screen.  The availability shows the accurate schedules.

At special times of the year we run additional rides. These work on a month to month basis and can be found under the Specials Page of our website at any time.

Private Rides:

Our guests also have the option of taking a private ride; these rides can be booked for any time of the day with 24 hour notice. Guests on a private ride can split their ride time on the trail and in the arena.

Please note WE DO NOT RUN our horses due to the desert terrain and ground burrowing animals for the riders’ and horses’ safety. Once riders demonstrate their ability to our staff, we MAY (not guaranteed) work pace up to light trot in the arena only. The ride will be at the weakest link’s ability. You must listen to and remain with our staff at all times.

Arrival and Check in:

We ask that you check in 15 – 30 minutes prior to the departure time. On the day of your ride, please plan for traffic conditions and arrive in plenty of time to sign waivers and get to know the staff and your fellow riders. Rides can get backed up very quickly when just one group arrives late. If that has happened on the day of your ride, please be patient – we want everyone to have a great experience and unfortunately just can’t control late arrivals. The waiting area has a great view of the property and the mountains, so even wait time is good time!

Please note your late arrival less than 15 mins prior to the scheduled ride time may cancel your ride as other guests that were prepared and on time cannot wait for you.  If you scheduled a Private Ride, note that tardiness will eat into your time.

Cancellation of Rides:

We (KOLI initiated) generally do not cancel. We ride, rain or shine, trails permitting. Should it rain (lighting, thundering, down pour or dust storm) or if the weather becomes too hot and it becomes an unsafe environment for horse and rider, a member of our team will contact you if you have provided a contact phone number or room number (if you are staying at the Sheraton). Occasionally we have the need to reschedule rides, this could happen at a moment’s notice, and in that case there we will try to accommodate you as best we can.  Please ensure to post the proper cell phone details in your booking.

For all online bookings (this policy for all horseback rides only – not events): Please note for a FULL Refund you must cancel 48 hours prior to scheduled ride date and time.  Cancellation 24 – 48 hours we will refund half of the amount paid.  If you cancel the same day there will be no money credited back for any reason.

If at anytime you have a question regarding your reservation, please do not hesitate to contact us at 602-796-3495 or email info@koliequestrian.com at any time.

Events

All special events (birthday parties, corporate events, reunions, Christmas parties, etc) are not confirmed until deposits received and contracts are completed.   Payment for events are required 5 day prior to the event.  Cancellation less than 5 days prior to any scheduled special event will forfeit all monies paid.  Again, horses and KOLI space is not held until contracted and credit card is on file with payment by guaranteed date.

Gift Certificates, Gift Cards & Pre-Paid Rides:

We sell Gift Cards in increments of $50 each or you can customize your amount.  Please note we DO NOT give change back from these items.  There are no refunds on gift certificates purchased through our website, at our office, or given as a donation to a cause.  Gift Certificates purchased are good for one year of the purchased date.

Pre-paid rides like the Trail Ride & Cowboy Sunset Dinners, Birthday Parties, Corporate and other special events are non-refundable.

Discounts & Specials:

Please note we can only honor one special offering during a visit. If you have questions regarding any of our specials, please Contact Us Here or call 602-796-3495. Reservations are required and will ensure booking time and availability of horseback ride.

Additional rides that we may provide are considered Special Rides. Anything listed on the Specials Page is considered a Special and cannot be combined with any other offers.

Our Specials may only be available for a specified period of time. Please note the Specials are not available Thanksgiving Week, Christmas Week or New Years Eve/Day. Each Special listed will have any exclusion dates.

Our Special and Regular Prices include tribal taxes; however wrangler gratuities are not included. If you enjoy your ride, tip your guide. Hope to see you soon!
